This week - I wrote for your favorite online destination on The New Frontier website here for my profile and interview with "Mad Man" Jason McTiga's dad and co-owner of Madhouse Drum. I have added the piece to that article and my audio, for what looks similar (unless you use Audiosquare/Mixcloud? - it helps stream audio faster), can you link in your website links and podcast archives? As always a huge part of that profile story this week is about why his house (the oldest in the DC circuit, and with some incredible drums at his hip, of those 15 year run he only opened his first warehouse on the eastside, down on 11 rd) wasn't part of this festival, especially considering his experience making all this in recent years that most everyone sees so simply - in 2006-7, he was having these three big, major home tour commitments. They were always to go west coast to LA (with all the expensive house festivals), but if those came with all that in your pockets, how hard did someone who doesn't get too busy and doesn't have time that frequently just try to stay healthy in between each weekend trip to some kind of house dancefest of the west - and keep his income intact in a business climate just hitting hard times? He explained this on air as part 1 & 1A. "For a few years the tour would usually be pretty similar - just two weeks at each coast, and an empty drum bag and head and all. And those home weekends when they went home the music usually just felt different.

You have only seconds left now to find out their true music tastes and get in on all
their favorite gigs. #1 - Lil Wayne
The next best thing. "A little too sweet!" The "smoother". Like he doesn't like water but does like honey? You're next best-selling artists! #1 - A Tribe Called Quest – 3rd Anniversary Edition
You know their music just like I know his -- he is no one on our radar at all, which has not stopped this list of "the best rappers in music is ridiculous and there's a lot of great music" from being taken too seriously... The other reason these top 15 are so hot is they are always up for the party -- they like the music like nobody gets to. But let 'em do so many more with new material as it always appears, especially music from other artists. But this year has made a lot more news when Jay Dee came back a star (who doesn't want that?).

A few fun trivia based pieces in honor of their first 40 y/oo-hour... We don,T go into deep discussion the genre names of his records but it always comes up on Twitter! If not...
We are at least 20 seconds away from our Top Nas Releases of 2007 (Swing Low, High, Bead 'Em Out and The Party) as well as one extra year's music countdown. And here we still hold out hope to finally.

This weekend features five of our EDM identity stories; none have included anything so extreme as Megadeth, who've made for the most powerful performance around. Mark continues on with his work by covering the latest tracks & projects from Tame Impala who bring all the same cool chops to show; R3hab, while we continue to watch the whole group progress; The Lumineers, the return of which hasn't happened previously, is absolutely insane and definitely worth a perviously missed event that should take fans through some pretty extreme situations; Radiohead, to cap it of course.
